Hello guys , here's my tutorial about HLTV Steam...
If you will do it step by step u will understand how to use it fast , and in a easy way...
Oke Lets start..
1- Downloading and Installing HLTV Steam
U wont find it in your counter-strike folder , so firstly lets download it...
Open Steam , go in Tools , and u will find something like Dedicated Server , the one with a Red/Orange logo..
then just continue downloading ( u will do it in some sec)
and then u will see that u will have it 100% ready.
2- Fixing the Bug of HLTV Steam
Ok so now we have a little problem ... we need to fix a bug that it shows (u cant connect in servers/ record without fixing this bug)
Go in Steam>steamapps>youraccount>counter-strike , and search for a file called ''steam_appid.txt'' [or steam_appid]
Now lets copy it , and go in the folders Steam>steamapps>youraccount>dedicated server, there u will see ur HLTV , copy that file inside the folder,
and then when u will open your HLTV it will show your fps and work...
3- You dont like the HLTV Slowmotion tool? How to remove it...
Go in Steam>steamapps>youraccount>dedicated server , and copy + paste the file hltv.cfg [it will be renamed to hltv.cfg(1) as u will have 2] then open it and delete all that u see inside it, and put this ''slowmotion 1.0'' (without the '') now save it , go and rename it to ''director.cfg'' (without the '') [or ''director'' for who doesnt use the advanced tool for show the extension of the file]
Now when you will record and watch a game you wont see the slowmotion ....
4- How to configure your HLTV (basic)
Go in Steam>steamapps>youraccount>dedicated server , and open the file ''hltv.cfg''
There u can change name of your hltv , advertisings , put a password for the server [for dont write always the command] and stuff...
let me just show to you the basic
// set HLTV proxy name as shown in score board
name "HLTV Proxy"
Here you can change the Name of your HLTV , you choose which name put on it , u can put the name of your clan or what ever you want
i use the default name HLTV Proxy as it doesnt matter so much...
// if game server is password protected, enable this line
//serverpassword "mypassword"
Here you can put the password for being automatic, u just need to remove the // in the start of the line and in the '' '' put the password example:
// if game server is password protected, enable this line
serverpassword "asdasd"
I changed it to the password of paruni... as i cant post it in public topics , you can change it by your own
// show message for 5 seconds each 60 seconds in center of X axis (-1) and
// above help text bar (0.85). Color given as hexadecimal RGBA .
loopcmd 1 60 localmsg "You're watching HLTV. Visit www.valvesoftware.com" 5 -1 0.85 FFA000FF
ok so here u choose , if u uses the hltv for record so then its better if you remove the advertise , because probably u will record and then u will record too the advertise... so for remove it just put in the start of the sentence //
example: // show message for 5 seconds each 60 seconds in center of X axis (-1) and
// above help text bar (0.85). Color given as hexadecimal RGBA .
// loopcmd 1 60 localmsg "You're watching HLTV. Visit www.valvesoftware.com" 5 -1 0.85 FFA000FF
If you uses the HLTV as broadcasting so then its better if you put an advertising about what you prefer just change the ''you're watching hltv......software.com'' to what u want... for edit the time of when u will see the message its just changing the 60 to how much time do u want( its calculated in seconds , 60 = 1 min , 120 = 2 min and so on...)
example: // show message for 5 seconds each 60 seconds in center of X axis (-1) and
// above help text bar (0.85). Color given as hexadecimal RGBA .
// loopcmd 1 60 localmsg "asdaasd.com" 5 -1 0.85 FFA000FF
5- How to configure your HLTV (broadcast) , and how to broadcast
Oke so now here u will see how to configure your HLTV for broadcast it to ppl , with some delay if u want or live...
Go in Steam>steamapps>youraccount>dedicated server , open hltv.cfg , and there we'll edit only some lines...
i will explain what that line does and put is at 'better'
// delays broadcasting for 30 seconds
delay 30.0
Oke here we have the line of the delay of the broadcast , we can change it on live = 0.0 delay = it will lag .. (it is good for lan) or we can just let him more than 30 seconds (60 seconds = 1 minute will be good for show every round without any lag).
So the default is 30 seconds but i prefer the 60 seconds coz u're sure that u wont lag hard...
so just change it to :
// delays broadcasting for 30 seconds
delay 60.0
// allow 3.5 KByte/sec as client rate. This is good a value
// for internet broadcasts. On LAN you may set this value to 10000
maxrate 3500
Here we have the Rate of the HLTV , the BEST value for lan its 10000 as it says , should be the maximum... as we arent on lan and we want just broadcast a game with delay so lets put 6000 of maxrate , coz i think it is good for like 30~50 ppl that are spectating the HLTV...
so it will be like this :
// allow 3.5 KByte/sec as client rate. This is good a value
// for internet broadcasts. On LAN you may set this value to 10000
maxrate 6000
// local chatting for HLTV spectators enabled
chatmode 0
the chat mode , it is one of the best thing that the HLTV has , coz you can talk with the guys that are watchin the hltv , with the chat , it is good if u wanna let the players talk ... the default is 0 yea but only coz the hosters of Progaming Matches dislike it coz like 2k of people talking will be a epic flood .... so here you can choose , as i dont use it to much and as u can avoid to use it , using your steam chat , i think its better to let it like this...

FIRSTLY U NEED TO KNOW THAT U MUST HAVE YOUR PORTS UNBLOKED FOR BROADCAST
starting it , you will firstly choose the max of players that can watch your hltv...
a good value its 50 so we'll put : maxclients 50 and press enter... (if you see that u are lagging much , then u can just put less maxclients choosing the best option for your internet , you need only to test it ).
Once that u choosen the maxclients , you connect to your server, with connect ip example : connect 99.99.999.99:9999
and as you want to broadcast it , you must write status
it will appear some ips yours and stuff,
like this :
we will take the Local IP and send it to all players that wanna watch the game...
then thats all when the game finished and u wanna stop the broadcast u just go and close it...
